Assessments are an integral part of teaching and learning. A combination of formative and summative assessments ensure that students have acquired the knowledge/skills required and are ready to set targets for the next academic year.As part of AFL practice, we believe in sharing, learning goals so that the students know precisely what they are going to learn and what outcomes are expected. Think-pair-share activities and group discussions are great ways of activating students as learning resources for each other. Not only do students learn from each other, but also find these activities stimulating and enjoyable. Effective classroom discussions promote thinking and create a very positive learning environment. It is very essential to activate students as owners of their own learning. Students need to know that a teacher can support and guide them, along with being responsible for their own learning. All this goes a long way in making our students lifelong achievers.
